MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said on Thursday he was certain that the supplies of the Russian natural gas to China through the Power of Siberia pipeline will begin in late December next year.

"There is no doubt that on December 20, 2019, gas will be transported to the Russian-Chinese border," Miller said, adding that the main stages of construction of the Power of Siberia pipeline will be completed by the end of this year.

In 2014, Gazprom signed a 30-year framework agreement with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) for annual deliveries of 38 billion cubic meters (1,341 trillion cubic feet) of Russian gas through the Power of Siberia pipeline.

The pipeline will also transport gas from production centers in Irkutsk and Yakutia to consumers in Russia's Far East.
