Moscow, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2018 ) :Second-placed Krasnodar's dreams of winning their first-ever Russian league title suffered an unexpected blow as they were held to a 0-0 draw at strugglers Dynamo Moscow on Saturday.
The stalemate on the snow-covered pitch of Khimki Arena in the suburbs of the capital saw Krasnodar only move to within six points of Russian Premier League leaders Lokomotiv Moscow, who visit Ural Yekaterinburg on Monday.
Reigning champions Spartak Moscow, CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg, who are all in action on Sunday, sit two points further adrift. "We dominated the play and possession but managed to create only one serious chance today," Krasnodar manager Igor Shalimov said.
"It's not enough but the weather and the slippery pitch prevented us from showing our best football here.
" Krasnodar, who had won their previous four league matches, dominated for long periods but Dynamo defended stoutly.
After the interval, Krasnodar upped the tempo and Viktor Claesson was denied in the 73rd minute by home goalkeeper Anton Shunin. Two minutes later, Krasnodar second-half substitute Wanderson had the best chance for an opener after a one-two with Fedor Smolov but could only hit the woodwork.
"We played well in the first half but after the break my men gave Krasnodar too much time and space allowing them to create some scoring chances," Dynamo head coach Dmitry Khokhlov said. "Luckily, everything ended well for us."
