Moldovan President Says Discussed Bilateral Relations With Russian Ambassador

CHISINAU (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 05th January, 2019) Moldovan President Igor Dodon said on Friday he met with Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov to discuss bilateral relation as well as the goals for the upcoming months.

"We have exchanged views on the situation in domestic and foreign policy ... talked about bilateral relations, defined the tasks for the coming months.

We also have discussed the development of plan of action for 2019, which is the year of Moldova in Russia," Dodon wrote on Facebook after the meeting.

The president went on to express gratitude for the implementation of the agreements, reached with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in particular on the amnesty for migrants and a semi-annual abolition of customs duties on certain Moldovan goods by Russia.

Dodon also extended condolences to the Russians over the deadly incident in the city of Magnitogorsk.
