Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday will take part in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit and meet with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 07th November, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday will take part in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit and meet with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

On October 27, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said that the heads of the CSTO member states would meet in Kazakhstan's capital Astana on November 8.

"[On Thursday and Friday, Russian President] Putin will work in Astana and Petropavl in Kazakhstan. There will be a CSTO summit and a separate meeting with [Kazakh] President Nazarbayev and, later, a plenary session of the Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum," Peskov told reporters.

The presidential spokesman noted that such a format of meetings had proved its efficiency and its participants - the representatives of the regions - had shown great interest in it.

The 15th plenary session of the Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum will be held on Friday in the northern Kazakh city of Petropavl.

CSTO is an international alliance focused on military cooperation. The list of full members includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
