Russia Hopes For Practical Results In EAEU-MERCOSUR Talks Next Year - Diplomat

Russia is hoping to have some practical results on the planned agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and South American trade bloc MERCOSUR, Russian Ambassador to Argentina Dmitry Feoktistov told Sputnik.
BUENOS AIRES (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 04th December, 2018) Russia is hoping to have some practical results on the planned agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and South American trade bloc MERCOSUR, Russian Ambassador to Argentina Dmitry Feoktistov told Sputnik.
Argentine President Mauricio Macri said Saturday that Buenos Aires was planning to "give a new impetus" to the talks when it became the chair of the bloc. The agreement would help facilitate he cooperation between the two regions.
"We are hoping to be able to have some tangible results next year," the ambassador said.
Feoktistov added that the work was ongoing.
"As I understand, we do not have any particular disagreements or notes regarding this document on which the work continues. But some of our EAEU partners do, so this work should go on," the diplomat said.
The EAEU includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. MERCOSUR's full members are Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, while Venezuela is currently suspended.
