Russia, India On Track To Reach Deals Important For India's Security - Defense Ministry

NEW DELHI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th December, 2018) Russia and India have almost reached number of agreements that are important to ensuring India's national security, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Col. Gen. Alexander Fomin said on Thursday.

"By implementing the agreements reached during the meetings between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the sides halve almost agreed on a number of documents, which are necessary to ensure defense capabilities and security of India," Fomin told reporters after a meeting of the Russian-Indian intergovernmental commission on defense industry cooperation.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed the ways to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries, Fomin added.

The meeting took place in New Delhi earlier in the day and was chaired by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman.
