The Russian armed forces have received a large number of modern weaponry, including 74 aircraft, 250 tanks and armored vehicles, as well as five ships, since the beginning of 2018, President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday.

"As of the middle of November, about 2,000 pieces of military equipment have been delivered to the armed forces in the framework of the defense order," Putin said at a meeting with military and defense industry officials in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

"Among those are 74 aircraft and helicopters, 80 aerial drones, 4 regiments of S-400 Triumf air defense systems, five surface ships, 250 tanks and other armored vehicles," the president said.
