Russian pop star Emin Agalarov said on Wednesday that US accusations against him were bogus and he had not breached any laws
Last year, Special Counsel investigating alleged Russian interference in the US presidential election Robert Mueller requested an interview with Emin Agalarov. On Tuesday, Agalarov canceled his concerts in the United States and Canada.
"I have breached no laws, I have nothing to conceal. What should I do if one day I am detained and jailed in a cell, where I will give testimony for many years? I would not like that to happen but once again: I have not violated any norms, laws, that is even funny. Everything that is being discussed and announced is bogus," Agalarov told the Rossiya 24 broadcaster.
Agalarov was one of the partners helping to arrange the 2013 Miss America pageant in Moscow, which was hosted by the Trump Organization.
The singer also helped to set up the June 2016 meeting between US President Donald Trump's son Don Jr., son-in-law Jared Kushner, campaign manager Paul Manafort and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, according to congressional testimony. Veselnitskaya allegedly had leverage against Trump's opponent, Democratic Party presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Trump's son later refuted the rumors about sensitive contacts with the Russian lawyer.
