Senior US Official To Discuss Arms Control, Russia At Europe Trip - State Dept.

US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Andrea Thompson will discuss arms control and alleged Russian aggression during her upcoming trip to Europe and the Middle East, the State Department said in a press release on Monday.
WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 29th October, 2018) US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Andrea Thompson will discuss arms control and alleged Russian aggression during her upcoming trip to Europe and the middle East, the State Department said in a press release on Monday.
During her October 29-November 8 trip, Thompson will visit Iceland, Estonia, Poland and Jordan.
"In Iceland, the Under Secretary will conduct bilateral meetings in Reykjavik and will participate in the annual NATO Conference on Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Arms Control, Disarmament, and Non-Proliferation," the release said.
In Estonia, Thompson will discuss cyber security and "countering Russian cyber aggression." The senior US diplomat will also lead the American delegation at a Bilateral Cyber Working Group with Estonian officials.
The undersecretary will then go to Warsaw, where she plans to participate in the Poland-United States Strategic Cooperation Consultative Group and conduct a number of meetings with senior Polish officials.
The final stop on Thompson's trip will be Jordan where she will meet with senior government and military officials.
