US President Donald Trump has been briefed on the explosion in Syria's city of Manbij and he closely monitors the situation, White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders said in a statement on Wednesday
"The President has been fully briefed and we will continue to monitor the ongoing situation in Syria," Sanders said.
Sanders said the US Defense Department should provide additional details on the Manbij explosion.
Earlier on Wednesday, an explosion in Manbij near the US-led coalition patrol's route left several people wounded, the city's military council said. Local media reported that up to five servicemen have been killed in the explosion.
The Islamic State took responsibility for the explosion in Manbij.
The US Defense Department did not respond to a Sputnik request to provide more information and comment on the incident in Manbij.
