SHARJAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 25th Mar, 2019) Al Bayt Mitwahid Association in collaboration with City Football Schools today launched the 4th edition of their popular initiative, ‘Rising Stars’.
Running the first time in the Emirate of Sharjah, the initiative offers UAE young football enthusiasts the opportunity to participate in training camps led by City Football Schools coaches. The camp kick started the first of three camps on 24th March, which will run for five days at Ittihad Kalba Sports and Cultural Club. It aims to bring first-class football coaching to communities that may not have regular access to the City Football Schools experience.
Commenting on the announcement, Abdullah Al Neyadi, board Member of Al Bayt Mitwahid Association, said, "One of our key pillars is healthy living, and we see it as our responsibility to communities across the UAE to create initiatives like Rising Stars."
"We aim to serve the entire UAE, not just certain segments, especially those areas that may not have ongoing recreational activities and programmes. Sharjah Sports Council and City Football Schools share our passion of serving the youth in our community, and together we are bringing football camps to Sharjah," Al Neyadi continued.
Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Sports Council, said, that Council supports initiatives that promote the importance of sports and exercise amongst all members of society, and that the initiative is aligned with the Council's strategy to contribute towards the development of the UAE's sport sector, providing individuals with all the necessary resources needed to advance their skills and talents.
"We have partnered up with Al Bayt Mitwahid Association for the upcoming Rising stars edition as they reflect the determination of the UAE’s directive to ensure that all children live a happy and healthy life," he added.
The Rising Stars programme has already offered football coaching to more than a thousand children. An integral part of the initiative is to present children with a platform where they can freely express themselves through sport, while also learning the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
