Saif bin Zayed visits ‘Zayed-Gandhi Digital Museum’

H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, visited the "Zayed-Gandhi Digital Museum" - the first of its kind joint UAE-India exhibition celebrates the late visionary leaders, Sheikh Zayed and Mahatma Gandhi - in Manarat Al Saadiyat

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 19th Mar, 2019) H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, visited the "Zayed-Gandhi Digital Museum" - the first of its kind joint UAE-India exhibition celebrates the late visionary leaders, Sheikh Zayed and Mahatma Gandhi - in Manarat Al Saadiyat.

The visit was organised by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, in cooperation with the Gandhi Digital Museum in New Delhi, to celebrate the heritage of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Mahatma Gandhi, Spiritual Leader of India.

Sheikh Saif was accompanied during his visit today by H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), and Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development.

During his visit, Sheikh Saif was briefed about the historic relations between the UAE and India through digital content and pictures. He also toured six areas of the museum, which is showcasing the lives of both leaders, and is introducing, to future generations, their biographies, heritage and ideologies, which are based on peace and tolerance.

The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development has launched the unique exhibition as a tribute to the lives and works of the two legendary leaders - the UAE's founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan and India's father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi.

Using innovative multimedia technologies and interactive tools, the digital museum highlights how their vision for a tolerant and cohesive society, and their contributions in the field of humanity, women empowerment, religious harmony and environmental sustainability have shaped and influenced the destinies of their people.

The museum’s interactive digital content showcases rare photos, videos and objects representing the life, works and philosophies of both renowned leaders, using cutting-edge technologies.

It also reaffirms the historical ties and shared values of peace, tolerance and sustainability between the UAE and India and allows people to gain insight into the lives and legacies of the two leaders, commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of Sheikh Zayed and 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
