Musical Night Pays Tribute To Legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Dec, 2018 ) :A musical night arranged here Tuesday evening, featuring the Kolkata-based vocalist Ustad Raza Ali Khan and grandson of the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.
The soulful musical event was organised by Rung school of Music and Arts in order to pay tribute to renowned and significant personality in the world of music, Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahib.
He is the son of the late Ustad Munawar Ali Khan and, more importantly, the grandson of the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.
Accompanied by his brilliant instrumentalists at the event, he rendered the rags, and ghazals of his grandfather faithfully, furthermore, he sang classical and semi-classical numbers with aplomb, winning applause from the limited but highly appreciative audience.
Raza is an Indian classical vocalist of the Kasur Patiala gharana, and is experienced at various genres of music. He is one of the few Indian classical vocalists who made successful pioneering ventures in performing with Western Classical Jazz musicians such as Louis Banks and others.
He is also famed for his vocal Jugalbandi with Sitar maestro Shahid Pervez and Grammy Award winner Vishwa Mohan Bhatt.
