LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -29th Sep,2016) : The Lahore High Court on Thursday dismissed bail application of Uzma Rao alias Tooba in model Abeera murder case. The single bench comprising Justice Aalia Neelum heard the matter.
During the hearing, the petitioner's counsel submitted that the accused was behind the bar for past one and a half year. He submitted that the trial was pending before the sessions court and it was not being concluded.
He pleaded the court to grant benefit of bail to the accused after considering delay in concluding trial.
However, the complainants's counsel opposed the request and submitted that the petitioner prolonged the trial, getting unnecessary adjournments.
The court after hearing arguments and examining case record dismissed the bail plea of the accused. Shera Kot police had registered a case against Uzma Rao alias Tooba and her two accomplices for killing Abeera Iqbal, the rookie model, who was a student at the Punjab University and lived in a hostel.
