ATC adjourns Abidi's derogatory remarks case hearing till April 24

An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday, resuming the hearing of a case pertaining to usage of derogatory language by the former Pakistan People's Party Senator Faisal Raza Abidi against the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2019 ) :An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday, resuming the hearing of a case pertaining to usage of derogatory language by the former Pakistan People's Party Senator Faisal Raza Abidi against the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, directed the prosecution for concluding arguments at the documents, provided by the accused before the court.

The ATC judge Shahrukh Arjumand was hearing the case.

During the hearing, Abidi's counsel submitted the documents regarding acceptance of apology by the Supreme Court (SC) in the said case.

Abidi's counsel argued that after the acceptance of apology by the SC, it was unfair to conduct a trial against the former Senator.

The ATC judge directed the prosecution for concluding arguments at such documents in the next hearing which is fixed for April 24.

The ATC had already recorded the statement of Abidi about the allegations leveled against him.

Abidi, in his statement, had maintained that being a good citizen, he believed in respect of judiciary adding he was the front liner in the movement for restorationof judiciary.

He said according to the Constitution, he respected orders of all the courts either lower or higher.
