QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Sep, 2025) Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan has reiterated the provincial government’s unwavering commitment to public service, emphasizing efforts to uplift living standards and ensure the provision of essential services such as education, healthcare, and clean drinking water for the masses.

Speaking at a high-level conference of Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners, Shakeel Qadir Khan highlighted that public welfare remains the top priority of the government, which is being pursued through strengthened governance and coordinated institutional efforts.

The Chief Secretary noted that effective measures are being implemented across the province via the District Development Committees (DDCs) to ensure the timely completion of various development projects aimed at improving public access to basic facilities.

To combat inflation and protect vulnerable communities, Shakeel Qadir Khan announced the enforcement of a strict price monitoring system. He directed officials to conduct regular market visits to ensure that essential commodities are sold at government-fixed rates, safeguarding the interests of the poor and middle class.

Recognizing the power of digital platforms, Khan instructed all Deputy Commissioners to activate and maintain official Facebook and X accounts to promote development initiatives, public awareness campaigns, and government services.

On environmental protection, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enforcing the ban on plastic bags. He stated that the initiative is being effectively implemented in various districts, with eco-friendly alternatives being promoted to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment.

Shakeel Qadir Khan ordered the immediate disbursement of salaries to temporarily appointed teachers and doctors in the Education and Health Departments. He also directed the issuance of advertisements for vacant positions under the third phase of recruitment.

Emphasizing the importance of birth registration, Shakeel Khan described it as a vital component of national planning and individual legal identity. He urged Deputy Commissioners to fully cooperate with NADRA to ensure accurate and timely registration.

The Chief Secretary underscored the need to promote a cashless economy for improved financial transparency and economic growth. He directed Deputy Commissioners to promote digital payment systems including mobile banking, online transactions, and card-based payments in collaboration with major shopping malls, vendors, and general stores across their districts.
