QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Oct, 2025) Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Wednesday said that Balochistan has a very important role in Pakistan’s economic development and prosperity.

Balochistan has lucrative opportunities for border trade and investment and our province can also provide access to Iran, Afghanistan and especially Central Asia.

Promoting border trade and strengthening economic activities in all border areas including Noshki can be very helpful.

More development measures are needed for the development and economic well-being of the poor people of Noshki so that they can also actively participate in the construction and development of the country and nation.

These views were expressed by Balochistan Governor when he was talking to Mir Dastgir Badini, Member of Provincial Assembly of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, at the Governor House, Quetta.

Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel said that the establishment of border markets and promotion of trade activities on the long borders of the two neighboring countries would not only help in solving the problems of the local population but could also help in the revival of the country’s economy.

He said that people associated with industry and trade in the society have a very important role in increasing national production, providing employment opportunities to people, promoting investment and gaining access to the trade markets of neighboring countries.

The Governor said that we have been regularly informing the relevant authorities at the Federal and provincial levels about the problems, difficulties and demands being faced by the people living in areas near the border, especially the traders saying that we would continue to play a role for a bright future for the country and the province.

He noted that the trade of small traders at the local level near the border not only provides employment opportunities to thousands of people, but these economic and trade activities also strengthen big traders at the national and provincial levels.

Keeping in mind both the current security concerns and the livelihood of the local population, more people-friendly measures can be taken, he maintained.
