Besides personal visits and family gatherings, private tour operators have also announced attractive packages of trips to Murree hills, Nathia Gali, Siri Paye, Shogran, Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan etc in last week of December that includes Christmas celebrations, New Year celebrations and year-end holidays.

According to an official of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, the PTDC offers discount packages on room rent to the tourists in all the hotels and motels for facilitating the tourists and attracting them towards such destinations.

To boost winter tourism in the country,�group tours for families and students to tourist spots like Murree, Ayubia, Shogran, Naran, Lake Saiful Maluk, Swat Valley, Chitral, including Kalash Valley, Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu and Neelum Valley were being offered on special rates.

He said that discount was offered on accommodation during winter season in all PTDC motels in operation at various areas including Miandam, Gilgit, Besham and Booni, Chitral etc.

Besides preparations of tour operators, various organizations, event managers have also planned a number of activities at snowy places on Christmas eve and New Year that include celebrations of the event as well as fun activities.

With the first snowfall in various areas of the country, the activities of tourists start as they visit the places mostly on weekends and holidays to enjoy winter season and the snowfall.
