FATA Parliamentarians Demand Govt To Implement Reforms In Tribal Areas

(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Dec, 2016) government to begin implementation of reforms in tribal areas of Khybar Pakhtoonkhaw . According to Radio Mashall , the FATA parliamentarians said that about 80 percent tribal people want to merge FATA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province .
They observed that the FATA Reforms Committee headed by Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz also presented its report to National Assembly, which recommends merging tribal belt in the province.
However, he claimed that two parties Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Party opposed the merging of FATA in the province.
The two parties said that decision about future of FATA should be made after consultation with tribal people.
Talking to Radio Mashall, member of National Assembly from Kurram Agency, Sajid Tori said that FATA Reforms Committee had visited different tribal areas and hold consultations with people in this regard.
