
Govt Endeavours To Improve Facilities For Students In Universities: Governor

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th july,2016) : The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra Wednesday said interests of students need to be safeguarded in all our efforts underway to further improve facilities of higher learning and their future development of universities in the province as well. This, he said, while presiding over the Senate meeting of University of Peshawar at Governor House here. Member Provincial Assembly Mahmood Jan, Rector Islamic University Islamabad and representatives of Higher education Commission Prof: Dr.
Masoom Yaseenzai, Vice Chancellor Peshawar University Prof: Dr. Rasool Jan, Principal Secretary to Governor Sikandar Qayyum, Additional Secretary Higher Education Khalid Khan and other members of the Senate participated in the meeting.
Budget for the year 2016-17 was approved in the meeting.
Vice Chancellor of University of Peshawar Prof: Dr. Rasool Jan gave away a detailed briefing about the University activities. He said research work of 59 PhDs scholars in various fields of the University of Peshawar is continued. The senate took strong exception of the constant trend of presenting deficit budget of the institution and stressed not only to cover financial deficiencies but also to maintain highest standards of administrative and financial management in every sphere of its working.
