ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Nov, 2018 ) :Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sahibzada Dr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri Wednesday said the government would take all possible measures to make Pakistan a welfare state by ensuring austerity, justice, accountability sans political victimization, public welfare and poverty alleviation in line with the State of Madina.
Addressing the concluding session of 43rd Rehmatul-lil-Aalmin Conference here, he said the steps taken by the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), whose life is the role model for the humanity, and followed by Khulafa-e-Rashideen would be practiced in Pakistan.
He said the main objective of holding Rehmatul-lil-Aalamin Confenrece every year on 12th Rabiul Awwal was to show affection with the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Moreover, such conferences brought blessings for the country and its people, he added.
He assured the Ulema and religious scholars that he would continue to play the role of a bridge between them and the government. Those declared non-Muslims by the Constitution could not be declared as Muslims and apprehensions in that regard were baseless, he added.
He said the incumbent government had played an effective role in stopping the blasphemous caricature competition announced by some sick minded elements in the Netherlands. Both the National Assembly and the Senate had unanimously adopted resolutions condemning the caricature competition. Due to the measures taken by the PTI government, the Netherlands authorities had forced the respective elements to withdraw from the competition.
The minister said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) had delivered the message of equality during his last sermon of Hujat-ul-Widah.
He said total 53 authors were awarded prizes in nine categories of Seerat books and research papers. Twentyone authors were awarded prizes for writing books and 32 scholars won prizes for writing research papers on the Seerat-un-Nabvi (Life of the Holy Prophet-PBUH).
This year, the minister said, 65 books and 81 research papers were received.
It may be added that 14 authors were awarded prizes by President Dr Arif-ur-Rehman Alvi on Wednesday and the rest by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday.
Addressing the conference, Dr Nighat Hashmi said Muslims were bound to lead their lives in accordance with the code of life taught by the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
She said the Ummah should ponder over the reasons of the Muslims' current state of affairs. The Muslims themselves were responsible for frequent blasphemy acts by the non-believers as they were not true followers of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). "We even do not impart His teachings to our children." She pointed out that the Muslim mothers were not playing their due role as they were not inculcating the teachings of the Holy Prophet among their children. The Islamic values of mercy and forgiveness should be promoted in the society, she stressed.
Shaikh Abdul Hadi, a religious scholar, called for understanding and adopting the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) being the complete code of life.
Mufti Abdul Wahab, a scholar from the United Kingdom, stressed for dedicating places of prayers for women in mosques.
Former minister Dr Zaheer-ud-Din Babar Awan emphasized for equality and justice for all. The parents should exhibit themselves as role models for their children to adopt true Islamic teachings, he added.
The declaration read out by Dr Awan and adopted by the conference, paid rich tributes to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) for making the humanity respectable, and giving honour to women and poor segments of the society.
It said:"The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) upheld justice in His time and rejected all forms of racism and discrimination; any ignorant belief which considered some people superior to others because of their language, race, social status or ethnicity. That is because such racism/discrimination is severely condemned in the Qur'an.
"The Holy Prophet's (PBUH) declaration in His last sermon of Hujat-ul-Waida was a giant step towards ensuring justice among all. Which was later adopted in the United Nation charter also."The declaration also welcomed the European Union court's decision of differentiating between undermining a religion and freedom of expression, declaring blasphemous acts against sacred personalities of any religion as a punishable offence.
