Govt. To Launch Campaign To Enroll Out Of School Children On Nov. 27

Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training is all set to launch a comprehensive campaign on 27th of this month to enroll around 27,300 marginalized children of the federal capital as well as 25 million across the country, An official of the ministry said on Tuesday.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Nov, 2018 ) :Ministry of Federal education and Professional Training is all set to launch a comprehensive campaign on 27th of this month to enroll around 27,300 marginalized children of the federal capital as well as 25 million across the country, An official of the ministry said on Tuesday.
The final draft regarding bringing out of school children to schools, has been approved by the Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mahmood, Media Adviser of the ministry Taimoor Khan told APP.
"The plan, involving six main activities would be initiated under a private-public partnership basis,". he added.
The Education Ministry had completed a survey to ascertain the real number of out of school children in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), another source in the ministry informed.
This survey was organized by the academy of Educational Planning and Management, an attached department of the ministry, which revealed that around 27,300 children were out of schools in the federal capital. Nilore and Tarnol were among the areas having more number of out of school children, source further disclosed.The government schools established in these areas have no capacity to enroll further children in their institutions while the capacity for further admission in the FG set up schools was available they have dearth of teachers.
A plan has been set under which the children would be properly prepared for exams of 5th and 8th classes by establishing community schools in Nilore and Tarnol areas, sources told.
The data of out of schools children was collected from 13 union councils and 133 villages of the federal capital.
Sources revealed that initially by activating Schools Management Committee (SMC) the communities would be given task to bring all children in the schools at all cost.
In second phase, he said under article 25 A the SMC would be given authority to fine or warning the parents and guardians of the marginalized children.
A committee consisting of FDE, Basic Education Community Schools, National Commission for Human Rights would accomplish the task with public-private partnership, he added.
FDE Director Schools Saqib Shahab has been given the responsibility to formulate a plan for admission of out of school children.
