Hearing-Impaired Children Join Independance Day Celebrations

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Augst,2016) : Hearing Impaired Children of the National Special education Center for Hearing Impaired Children H- 9/4 on Friday presented tributes to the leaders of Pakistan Movement as well as the national heroes, for their sacrifices to the country's Independence.
The event was conducted in auditorium of the center by the hearing impaired children and was presided by students themselves as no chief guest was called. The children paid rich tributes to the founder of nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and national poet Allama Iqbal through tableaus and performances in their sign language in lieu of Independence Day celebrations. The programme was conducted in collaboration with Parents Teachers Association of the center, Murree Brewery and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Wing of National Testing Service.
The colorful event was enriched with patriotic performances, speeches in sign language and addresses by Director of the center Mr.
Miraj Gul and General Secretary Parents Teachers Association Mrs.Naureen Altaf. Addressing on the occasion, Miraj Gul said "this August Pakistan is celebrating its 70th Independence Day and our hearing impaired children have expressed their love, dedication and commitment for their homeland".
He said the children, inspite of their disability, took part in the preparations of I-Day activity with great enthusiasm. Their courage and patriotic spirit is worth appreciating, he added.
National Special Education Center for Hearing Impaired Children H-9/4, stretched over nine acres is the only state governed educational institution exclusively for Hearing Impaired students caters to educational and rehabilitation needs of 550 hearing impaired students from class nursery to Intermediate level.
