HESCO Chief For Gearing Up Operation Against Power Theft, Defaulters

The Chief Executive Officer Hyderabad Electric Supply Company Reham Ali Otho Monday paid surprise visits to various parts of 13 districts of HESCO region to review the pace of work on development schemes and ongoing grand operation against the defaulters and power thieves
The CEO along with Chief Engineers visited the operation sub-divisions of Latifabad, Allama Iqbal, Firdous Colony, Citizen Colony, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Matli, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Umerkot, Kunri, Nawabshah, Tando Adam, Sanghar, Hala, Bhitshah, Daoulatpur, Qazi Ahmed and Odero Lal where he personally reviewed the grand operation against power theft and recovery of outstanding dues.
He directed the officers and employees to gear up the operation and register FIRs against power thieves besides recovering hundred percent outstanding dues from defaulters.
If anyone found involved in power theft, the concerned official and employee will be dealt with strict legal action, he warned.
He also reviewed the pace of work on development schemes being carried out in various parts of the region and directed to complete all schemes within time.
The CEO was informed that during one month, the HESCO recovery teams have unearthed 92135 illegal connections and cut off connections of 70269 defaulters. The teams also recovered Rs. 197 million from the defaulters while letters have been submitted in various Police Stations for registration of 337 FIRs against power thieves, of which 39 have so far been lodged.
