Minister Underlines Need Of Combine Efforts For Livestock Development

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2018 ) :Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Abdul Bari Pitafi has underlined the need of combine efforts for livestock development adding that 65 percent of the population of the country is linked with agriculture and livestock therefore the development could bring self sufficiency in this sector.
Talking to media persons here at livestock and animal science complex on Wednesday, the minister also emphasised the need of saving different species of precious animals adding that Sindh Livestock Department will organise three-day grand exhibition of different kinds of animals in the month of February 2019.
The cattle owners from all over the province would be invited to bring their best animals in the exhibition, he said and added besides, the food companies and livestock machinery manufacturing companies would also be invited in the exhibition.
Such type of exhibition will also be organised at divisional and district headquarters in order to facilitate the livestock owners at their nearest, he added.
Responding to a question about the strike of fishermen, the minister said that ban on fishing has been imposed by the Federal government, however, the provincial government would not leave the fishermen alone.
Replying to another question, he said that the Livestock Department had started vaccination of animals in drought affected Thar desert and so far 1.3 million animals have been vaccinated in the area. The Chief Minister Sindh also approved the summary of providing animal food in drought affected area on subsidized rates, he added.
