ISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2016 ) : Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has asked India to give up the Doval doctrine viz-a- viz Pakistan as it is very dangerous for the region and greatly increases the chances of a full-fledged war between the two countries which will benefit none.
According to Kashmir Media Service,Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said, aggressiveness and predominance as a state policy both with regard to the Kashmir problem and in dealing with neighbours can bear no fruit and is destructive for India itself in the long run.
He said that resolution of disputes in a respectable and amicable manner based on principles of justice and humanity was the most assured way of ensuring peace and stability in the region and improved relations between the neighbours.
He reiterated that resolution of the Kashmir dispute once and for all is way of doing so. The Mirwaiz said that sustained and unconditional dialogue among the three stakeholders of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the most affected party i.e.
people of Jammu and Kashmir should be initiated forthwith and an immediate stop should be put to hostilities between the two countries and against the people of Kashmir. He expressed grave concern over the escalation in ceasefire violations resulting in casualties on both sides of the Line of Control.
These incidents, he said, shift focus from the actual issue of Kashmir and divert all attention to the ceasefire line and borders besides causing distress to the people living in these areas.
