NHA Going To Launch Operation Along GT Road

The National Highway Authority (NHA) is going launched operation and issued notices to remove all the encroachments along the GT Road at Rawat.
Maintenance Unit Rawalpindi (Revenue Section) of NHA has issued notices to the shopkeepers and businessmen who had encroached along with GT Road in Rawat and on Adiala Road.
Assistant Director (Maintenance) NHA Rawalpindi told media persons that the authority had decided to immediately remove all the encroachments along the GT Road in Rawat.
He said initially the encroachers had been directed through notices to remove all the encroachments voluntarily.
NHA has given the encroachers two days deadline to remove encroachments voluntarily otherwise the buildings, shops, plazas and other encroachments will be bulldozed.
NHA warned that strict action would be taken and imposition of hefty fines against them in case of non-compliance of the notices.
It has been observed, traders, landlords and other influentialhave grabbed the state-owned land along the GT Road at Rawat by developingshanty towns, shops, kiosks, plazas, buildings and other businesses.
