Pakistani Americans Express Condolences Over Demise Of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz

The Pakistani American community has expressed its deep sorrow over the demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz in London, paying tributes to the wife of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for her struggle for democracy.

WASHINGTON, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Sep, 2018 ) :The Pakistani American community has expressed its deep sorrow over the demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz in London, paying tributes to the wife of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for her struggle for democracy.

Begum Kulsoom was diagnosed with cancer in August last year and was under treatment in London since then. She was placed on a ventilator last month and breathed her last on Tuesday after prolong illness.

People from different walks of life expressed grief over the Facebook and Twitter, acknowledging her service for the democracy in the face of dictatorial regime of former military president Pervez Musharraf.

Ibrahim Paracha, a businessman, said that regardless of political affiliation, she deserves praise for standing up to the military regime, when her husband was sent in exile and she was made the party's president, a post she held for several years.

It's a coincidence that she died on the death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam.

Darul Huda�Islamic Center,�a non-profit organization that runs girls-only school in Virginia, has arranged special prayers to be offered on Friday, and will be attended by residents of the metropolitan area.

The government has released former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and their daughter Maryam to attend her funeral to be held in Lahore on Friday.�She was viewed by many people as a strong woman who stood by his husband during difficult time.�
