Dera Ismail Khan Upset Chitral In 13th NBP Inter-District Soccer

Two superb goals of Imran Niazi in the dying moments of the match guided Dera Ismail Khan to upset strong Chitral by 3-2 in a thrilling encounter of the ongoing 13th NBP Inter-District Football Championship being played here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Wednesday.
Director Development Directorate of sports KP Niamat Ullah Khan Marwat was the chief guest on this occasion. The players of both Dera Ismail Khan and Chitral were introduced to him. Organizing Secretary and former international footballer Basit Kamal, District Sports Officer Jamshed Baloch and large number of spectators witnessed the thrilling match.
Both Dera Ismail Khan and Chitral gave each other a tough time. The Dera forwards and Chitral's front-line made some incisive rallies of attacks but till the end of the first 20 minute play none of the team could score any goal.
It was the 21st minute of the game, when Chitral opened the account through center striker Tauqeer on the field attempt. It was a nice goal scored by Tauqeer. Tauqeer got the ball from his mid-fielder Sheraz Khan and quickly zoomed toward the rival defence and netted a fine goal to make the tally 1-0.
After taking lead, Chitral put in more pressure and made some good attacking moves but failed to score any goal.
On the other hand Dera Ismail Khan found the equalizers when Qamar slammed in a beautiful goal through field attempt to make the tally 1-1. It was a nice goal scored by Qamar after exchanges ball with mid-fielder Jan Muhammad.
At half-time both Dera Ismail Khan and Chitral were locked 1-1. After the resumption of the second-half Dera Ismail Khan managed their position by taking control of the ball position. Chitral also played well and succeeded in taking a goal lead through Sherez Khan on the field attempt.
Sheraz got the ball at the center line and zoomed quickly by reaching in front of the goal-mouth wherein he kicked into the goal-post by leaving Dera Ismail Khan goal-keeper Babar guessing. It was a forceful kick which gave no time to Dera goal-keeper to stop.
It was in the 66th minute when Dera Ismail Khan scored two quick goals in the dying moments through Imran Niazi on the field attempts and made the tally 3-2. Chitral, after going down, struggled hard to level the tally but were failed and thus Dera Ismail Khan won the match by 3-2.
Allauddin, Ikram and Zeeshan supervised the match while Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah acted as match commissioner.
