Govt College Peshawar Wins HED Inter-College Boys Volleyball Title

Government College Peshawar clinched the trophy after defeating Government Post Graduate College Nowshera in the final of the Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inter-College Boys Volleyball Championship played here GCP premises on Tuesday.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Asif was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the final match the players of both the finalist teams Govt College Peshawar and Govt Post Graduate College Nowshera were introduced to him.
Organizing Secretary and Assistant Director sports Hassan Khan, Director Sports Govt College Peshawar Arshad Hussain and large number of spectators were also present and witnessed the thrill-packed final.
Govt College Peshawar won the first set by 25-23 before leveling the set at 4-4, 6-6, 8-8, 10-10, 12-12, 16-16, 19-19, 20-20, 21-21, 22-22 and 23-all before GCP marched into victory.
After winning the first set it was a difficult task for GCP to double the lead as Govt Post Graduate College consecutive won two sets by 23-25 and 27-29.
Both GCP and Govt Post Graduate College Nowshera gave each other a tough fight by leveling the tally of the second sets at 7-7, 9-9, 13-13, 17-17, 18-18, 19-19, 20-20, 21-21, 22-22 and 23-23 and it was the third set in which both stretched to 27-29. There was a point to point struggle against each other and some fine forceful smashes, cross-court smashes and excellent flying services were also witnessed.
Govt College Peshawar team having the support of the cheering spectators, came back strongly and first succeeded in leveling the tally 2-2 when the took the fourth set 26-24 and in the last and decisive set GCP marched into victory at 17-15.
For Government post Graduate College Nowshera Shehbaz Khan, Javed Ali, Mutahir and Luqman played well while GCP Peshawar Nouman, Irfan, Shakir Ullah, Haris Ahmad and Babar Khan played well.
