National Hockey Camp For Sultan Of Johor Cup Malaysia In Full Swing

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Oct, 2016 ) : The training camp of Pakistan Under-21 hockey probables for the Sultan of Johor Cup in the Malaysian City of Johor Baru to be played from Oct 31 to Nov 6 has been in progress in Johar Town Hockey Stadium Lahore under the supervision of the head coach Olympian Tahir Zaman.
Talking to APP, Olympian Tahir Zaman said that they have selected 35 boys who are currently undergoing rigorous training since September 22. He disclosed that for the final phase of the camp, it has been decided to reduce the number of trainees to 26.
He said the decision in this connection would be made by national chief selection Olympian Abdul Rasheed Junior. The camp for the 26 short-listed probable would restart from Oct 14 soon after trials matches against the senior team, Tahir Zaman added.
Prior to the camp, these short listed 26 boys will be considered for the three matches series between the national junior probables against the national senior probables. These matches are to be played from October 8-10 in Lahore.
Names of the short-listed probables are as under: - Goalkeepers: Ali Raza, Talal Khalid and Muneeb-ur-Rehman. Full backs: Atif Mushtaq, Hussain Anwar, Mubashar Ali and Zahidullah. The half-back comprising Abu Bakar Mahmood, Faizan, Junaid Kamal, M.Usman, Tazeemul Hasan, M.Adnan & Ammad Shakeel Butt while the forwards including Shan Irshad, Azfar Yaqoob, M.Dilber, M.Atiq, Bilal Qadir, Mohsin Sabir, Rana Sohail Riaz, Samiullah, M.Rizwan, M.Naveed, Fahadullah Khan and Umar Hamdi.
