SEOUL,(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Feb, 2018 ) ::A senior South Korean official will update the top Chinese envoy here on inter-Korean relations Wednesday amid an Olympics-led thaw on the peninsula, according to the Ministry of Unification, says Yonhap report.
Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung is scheduled to meet with China's Ambassador to South Korea Qiu Guohong at the ministry's building in central Seoul. It's part of the ministry's efforts to keep foreign countries informed of regional security conditions and the government's approach toward the North.
Chun had a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to South Korea Yasumasa Nagamine on Tuesday.
He told the envoy that South Korea will continue efforts to improve inter-Korean ties and resolve the nuclear issue peacefully in a calm and cool-headed manner.
He also reaffirmed South Korea's commitment to work together with the international community in addressing the North Korea issue. The North dispatched a high-level delegation to the opening of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
It included Kim Yo-jong, the influential sister of leader Kim Jong-un. In the meeting with President Moon Jae-in at Cheong Wa Dae, she conveyed Kim's personal letter and invited him to visit Pyongyang.
