Greek Website Denies Role In UK's Covert Influence Operation

A Greek website whose staffers were exposed as part of a global network run by UK intelligence to target Russia and influence allies denied on Wednesday a role in the operation.
The Anonymous hacker collective leaked files last week that it claims belong to Integrity Initiative, a London-based influence campaign with branches in mainland Europe, Canada and the United States. The Greek cluster is allegedly made up of 11 coordinators, including journalists with Greece's inside story.
"Neither I nor other inside story employees you mention know about the documents you refer to ... We are not members - to say nothing of coordinators - of any cluster," Dimitris Xenakis, one of the individuals from the Greek file, told Sputnik in response to an information request.
The journalist admitted that the website had worked together with Integrity Initiative on issues like the fight against disinformation, but said the outlet took pride in its independence.
Another contact from Integrity's leaked list of Greek coordinators, the Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), also denied its involvement in what Anonymous said was UK's "information secret service" operation to "counteract Russian propaganda."
