Iqbal's Poetry, Philosophy Remembered In Canberra

This was highlighted at an event organized by Pakistan High Commission in Australia in collaboration with Bazm-e-Adab Canberra late Monday to commemorate the 141st birth anniversary of the poet of the East Dr Allama Mohammad Iqbal, says a message received here from Canberra, Australia.
High Commissioner Babar Amin said Iqbal was the ideological founder of Pakistan, who rekindled the quest for independence and a separate homeland among the Muslims of South Asia through his poetry and philosophy.
The high commissioner cited various verses from Iqbal's poetry and said Iqbal through his universal message advocated progressiveness, peace and harmony in the world.
The message of Prime Minister Imran Khan on Iqbal Day was relayed for the audience gathered at the Chancery.
Imam of Canberra Islamic Centre Adama Konda of Burkina Faso in his remarks stated that Iqbal's poetry and philosophy had a wide influence in Africa as well. He termed the vision of Iqbal to last for all times to come.
Imam Konda highly lauded the services of Iqbal for reconstruction of religious thought in islam and said Iqbal's message was of eternal hope, prophetic love and devotion.
Nadeem Shaikh, President of Bazm-e-Adab Canberra and Dr. Naimat Cheema from Melbourne highlighted Iqbal's works focusing on spirituality and a pragmatic approach towards development of human society.
