BRUSSELS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 04th February, 2019) Italy has blocked EU statement on recognizing Juan Guaido as Venezuela's interim president, a diplomatic source in Brussels told Sputnik Monday.
"According to my information, at an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers that took place from January 31 to February 1 in Bucharest, Italy vetoed a statement on behalf of the EU that was to be made by the EU foreign policy head, Federica Mogherini, saying that the EU would recognize Guaido in case no new presidential elections were organized," the source said.
