The Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) has developed an interceptor drone with an assault rifle at the request of the Almaz-Antey weapon-maker, the head of MAI student engineering bureau told Sputnik

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th March, 2019) The Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) has developed an interceptor drone with an assault rifle at the request of the Almaz-Antey weapon-maker, the head of MAI student engineering bureau told Sputnik.

"Our task was to get a device with a weapon airborne and ensure the utmost stability of its work and precision of its attacks ... It does not need a runway or a catapult to take off, it can launch off any surface without any additional preparations," Igor Trifonov said.

The interceptor drone weighs 23 kilograms, or about 51 Pounds, and can stay in the air for up to 40 minutes.
