One Person Killed, 4 Injured In Shooting In US Southeastern Alabama State - Police

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 09th September, 2018) One person has been killed and another four have sustained injuries as a result of a shooting in the city of Auburn in the US southeastern state of Alabama on Sunday, local police said in a statement.
Shots were reported in the city center around 2:24 a.m. local time (07:24 GMT), according to the statement published on the official website of Auburn police.
"Officers confirmed shots were being fired and located several victims. A 20 year-old male from [the city of] Tuskegee, AL [Alabama] was discovered deceased, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Additionally, four other individuals were found to be injured from the gunfire," the statement said.
Three injured people were transported to a hospital in a non-life threatening condition, while a 16 year-old young man sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital by air ambulance, local police added.
"Preliminarily, information has been obtained that an altercation occurred just prior to an exchange of gunfire that resulted in the injuries. The incident is being investigated by the Auburn Police Division and is not believed to be a random shooting," the statement said.
The Fox news television channel reported that the incident took place in a McDonald's restaurant.
