Pence to Meet Australian Premier at APEC Summit to Discuss Security, Trade - Sr. Official

US Vice President Mike Pence will hold a bilateral meeting to discuss security, trade and other issues with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, a senior administration official said in a press briefing on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th November, 2018) US Vice President Mike Pence will hold a bilateral meeting to discuss security, trade and other issues with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, a senior administration official said in a press briefing on Wednesday.

"We also will meet bilaterally with the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison," the official told reporters.

"And we'll talk about some economic issues ... we'll also talk a little bit about trade."

The official also said Pence and Morrison plan to discuss security, including North Korea and freedom of navigation in the region.

Another issue expected to be brought up is how the US and Australia will be working together along with their other partners and allies in the region.

The APEC Summit begins on November 17 in Papua New Guinea's capital of Port Moresby.
