Russia Registers 13 Ceasefire Breaches In Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th August, 2018) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission, monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire regime in Syria, has registered 13 truce violations over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side recorded four ceasefire breaches, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
"The situation in the de-escalation zones is assessed as stable. Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 13 cases of firing in the provinces of Latakia (4), Aleppo (8) and Hama (1). The Turkish side recorded four cases of firing in the provinces of Idlib (3) and Latakia (1)," the ministry said in its daily bulletin.
Over the past 24 hours, the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation has held one humanitarian operation, delivering 800 food sets with a total weight of 3.
7 tonnes to a camp in Damascus province. Russian medics also provided assistance to 60 civilians, the ministry added.
The number of armed formations claiming that they observe the ceasefire has not changed, standing at 234, according to the bulletin. The number of areas, which signed reconciliation agreements, has remained the same and amounts to 2,518.
Russia, alongside Iran and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been assisting Damascus both by supporting the struggle against terrorist groups and providing humanitarian aid to the residents of the crisis-torn country.
