The visit of the delegation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) leadership to the United States has been preliminarily rescheduled for March, but the exact date will depend on Washington's decision, RAS President Alexander Sergeev told Sputnik on Wednesday
"It is currently being discussed. It has been rescheduled, I believe March is currently being discussed, we'll see. [The visit will be held] when it is convenient for the US side," Sergeev said on the sidelines of the Gaidar Forum.
The visit, during which the RAS is expected to sign a new cooperation agreement with the US National Academy of Sciences (NAS), was initially scheduled for December 17-18, but then postponed until an indefinite date.
The NAS cited "logistical issues and other unforeseen circumstances" as the reason to push the meeting back.
The Gaidar Forum is an annual international event, uniting scientists and practitioners for discussions on social, economic, and political matters. The 10th edition of the forum started in Moscow on Tuesday and will last through Thursday. The Rossiya Segodnya media group is an official information partner of the event.
