Senior US Official To Visit Lithuania, Bulgaria Next Week - State Department

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 10th November, 2018) Deputy US Assistant Secretary of State Marik String will travel to Lithuania and Bulgaria November 12-15, US Department of State spokesperson Heather Nauert said in a statement on Friday.

"In Vilnius, Lithuania, String will join senior Department of State and Department of Defense officials on the US delegation to the US-Baltic Dialogue with senior government and military representatives from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania," the statement said.

Nauert explained that while in Sofia, Bulgaria, String plans to discuss military modernization plans and other security and defense trade issues with senior Bulgarian officials.

Nauert added that an important role of defense trade deals within NATO is promoting modernization and enhancing the military strength of the military alliance.
