Terrorist Holding Explosive Device Killed In Syria's Manbij - City's Military Council

DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) The military council of the city of Manbij, located in northern Syria, said its personnel killed a terrorist who had an explosive device with him, as he attempted to escape the officers while they were trying to detain him.
"Our military personnel managed to kill an identified terrorists holding an explosive device, who tried to escape during the detention attempt. Then, the [attempt] to carry out a terror act was revealed," the council's press service said in a statement.
The statement noted that the incident took place in the west of the city.
The incident followed a deadly terror attack that purportedly targeted a US patrol in Manbij on Wednesday. The attack led to about two dozen people, including up to five US service members, killed.
On Thursday, the Manbij military council said it had arrested a terrorist cell planning new attacks in the city and receiving instructions from the Turkish intelligence
