Trump Says Reports On US Sending 120,000 Troops To Confront Iran 'Fake News'

Media reports that the US government is planning to deploy more than 100,000 troops to the Middle East to defend against Iran is fake news, President Donald Trump told reporters on Tuesday
Earlier in the day, the New York Times reported that last week Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan presented the White House with a plan to send 120,000 troops to the Persian Gulf in case Iran accelerates development of nuclear weapons or attacks US interests.
"Fake news," Trump said when asked about the report.
