Two journalists were wounded by Israeli troops during a weekly protest against Israeli settlements in the village of Kafr Qaddum in the northern West Bank, local media reported on Friday
A local activist told WAFA news agency that Israeli soldiers had fired live bullets, rubber-coated rounds and teargas canisters at the protesters, injuring WAFA's photojournalist Ayman Nubani and Xinhua Agency's Nedal Shtayeh.
In addition, Israeli soldiers assaulted and arrested a French solidarity activist.
Some protesters suffocated from teargas inhalation, WAFA said. A total of six people were injured.
Palestinians have been organizing weekly demonstrations in the village of Kafr Qaddum almost every Friday in order to protest against Israel regularly closing the village's main street and against Israeli settlement activities in general.
The Israeli government refuses to recognize Palestine as an independent political and diplomatic entity and builds settlements in the occupied areas despite objections from the United Nations.
