Vietnam Hails President's Russia Visit As Strong Catalyst For Bilateral Ties - Minister

Hanoi has praised the results of Vietnamese President Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to Russia in September, which gave great momentum to bilateral relations, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Monday
HANOI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th November, 2018) Hanoi has praised the results of Vietnamese President Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to Russia in September, which gave great momentum to bilateral relations, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Monday.
"We commend the results of the recent official visit of President, General Secretary [of the Communist Party] of Vietnam, Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong to Russia in September this year, which gave a powerful impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation between our countries in all areas," Nguyen stated following the negotiations with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Russian President Vladimir Putin received Nguyen Phu Trong on September 6 in the Russian resort city of Sochi. Both sides agreed to further promote bilateral ties, particularly focusing on trade and the economy, oil and gas cooperation, culture, and international and regional security issues.
Medvedev is currently paying a two-day working visit to Vietnam. He is there as part of a delegation to discuss trade, investment, industry and energy cooperation with their Vietnamese counterparts.
