The parties to the conflict in Yemen agreed to reopen the airport in the country's capital of Sanaa for domestic flights, a source participating in the ongoing Yemeni talks in Sweden told Sputnik on Wednesday.
"The delegations of the Yemeni government and the Houthi rebels during the peace talks in Sweden agreed to reopen the airport in Sanaa for domestic flights in the first stage, and the airports in Aden and Seiyun in the south and east of Yemen will become airports of arrival, screening and transit to the areas under the control of the government," a source said.
According to a source, the parties continue to negotiate which airport will issue visas.
Yemen has been gripped by a civil war between President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi's government and the Shiite Houthi movement, officially known as the Ansar Allah movement, since 2015. The government is backed by the Saudi-led coalition that has been carrying out airstrikes that target areas controlled by the Houthis since March 2015.
The reconciliation talks between the government delegation and representatives of the Houthi movement began in Sweden last week and will last through Friday.
