ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 26th Mar, 2019) The Emirates news Agency, WAM, today launched a forum titled, 'WAM Majlis', which will engage with UAE officials on national developments.
The WAM Majlis will take place on a monthly basis, hosting ministers and senior officials to share updates on key projects and agendas that their institutions are undertaking, while highlighting progress made towards attaining the objectives of the nation's vision and agenda for progress and development.
It will also see engaging conversations between officials and media representatives on the role the media plays to spotlight the nation's overall development progress. The Majlis was launched as part of the WAM's media impact, and the overall objective of the National Media Council, NMC, to promote and support all media-related initiatives and activities in the UAE and abroad.
Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Executive Director of WAM, said that the launch of the WAM Majlis is part of the agency's development vision, which aims to promote cooperation and strengthen partnerships between the country's ministries and institutions, as well as to highlight their achievements, which are an integral part of the country's development.
It also seeks to place a spotlight on their plans, programmes and future visions, in line with the UAE Vision 2021 and the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, he added.
The WAM Executive Director explained that the Majlis will host ministers and senior officials on a regular basis to promote interactive dialogue. He noted that the majlis proceedings will be provided to all media outlets to utilise.
"WAM believes in its national role and is keen to launch an initiative like the Majlis, creating a media platform that will highlight the country’s development achievements, vision and values, as well as its role as an international model of tolerance and coexistence," Al Rayssi concluded.
