DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 15th Oct, 2018) The Ministry of Community Development, MOCD, unveiled three major technological achievements and initiatives during its participation in the GITEX Technology Week 2018, which began on 14th October and concludes on 18th October.
The ministry realised the importance of improving its smart database, upgrading technology infrastructure and enriching the innovative practices to support its Vision 2021 "Towards a Cohesive Family and Coherent Community". It also realised the importance of sustainable efforts to achieve the goals of Sustainable Development2030, in the pursuit of the best care, growth and empowerment of the community and the happiness and wellbeing of the community.
Saeed Abdullah, Technology Advisor in the Ministry of Community Development, MOCD, stated that the ministry integrates all its systems with one unified customers’ services system based on Blockchain technology, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data for the purpose of facilitating its work procedures and communication between the employee and the beneficiaries. The system allows better integration with other government systems.
Abdulla also added that the blockchain technology is a safe and secure technology for all transactions, initiatives, community and technological ideas of the ministry.
These diversified services satisfy the needs of community members and encourage them towards development and empowerment. All the initiatives of the ministry seek to achieve these rapid steps. The blockchain platform technology is one of the three main initiatives in the ministry, representing an untraditional and non-centralised database to be used in all paper transactions.
"We, at the MOCD, and as part of the Federal government, adopt the Strategy2021 and apply this technology in our systems. ‘Private blockchain’ has been dedicated for use in different fields such as a marriage grants system and designing an electronic voting system for the associations for public benefits. This provides transparency in the voting process taking into consideration the electronic security aspect and increasing credibility and saves time and effort during the elections of these associations. Public blockchain is also used to verify the licences of the people of determination centres and private associations for public benefits."
As such, Abdulla added that the big analysis data system, known as "Big Data", has been designed by the ministry as a new analytical tool used to handle a large amount of data for analytical purposes. The aim of these tools is to provide decision-makers with accurate data, raising the level of information governance, providing future perceptions or scenarios for decision makers and reducing operational costs.
The third technological announcement by the ministry is the use of Artificial Intelligence to make its customers happy through a number of applications called "Chatbot". As stated by Abdulla, these applications will create easy communication channels with the users by satisfying their needs, replying to enquiries and requests 24/7. Using Artificial Intelligence increases productivity and achieves the purpose of adopting these technologies while ensuring a customer’s happiness, a core element and goal for the ministry.
