DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 06th Jun, 2018) Smart Dubai has joined the Community Development Authority’s (CDA) Youth Council in distributing Suhoor meals to workers at the Aqeel Abas Mosque in Dubai’s Al Warsan area for the second consecutive year.
The initiative is part of CDA’s activities to mark the Year of Zayed and celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan, living up to the UAE leadership’s aspirations and directives to embrace charity and promote solidarity and cohesion among members of society.
The Smart Dubai delegation included Dr. Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director-General of the Smart Dubai Office (SDO); Younus Al Nasser, SDO Assistant Director-General and CEO of the Dubai Data Establishment; and Wesam Lootah, CEO at the Smart Dubai Government Establishment (SDG).
"Smart Dubai’s participation in this initiative for the second consecutive year is part of our policy to promote generosity and solidarity among all members of society, as well as to encourage volunteer work in the UAE," Dr.
Aisha said.
Ahmed Julfar, Director-General of CDA, said, "The support provided by government agencies for youth initiatives is an incentive for them to come up with creative ideas that stem from the immediate needs of the community and meet their aspirations. ‘Their Suhoor On Us’ initiative was supported by various government agencies and private-sector organisations, led by Smart Dubai, which is the Diamond sponsor for this year. Smart Dubai also contributed significantly to the promotion of the initiative through its social media and website, in addition to the participation of Smart Dubai employees as volunteers in the initiative, distributing Suhoor meals to the beneficiaries."
Smart Dubai joins the CDA Youth Council’s initiative as a diamond sponsor. The programme’s various activities include free medical check-ups, supervised by the Dubai Health Authority’s Youth Council.
