Criminals awarded imprisonment, fines in attempted murder and assault cases

A local court has sentenced seven individuals in two separate cases involving attempted murder and assault, registered at Jatli Police Station in June 2017

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jul, 2025) A local court has sentenced seven individuals in two separate cases involving attempted murder and assault, registered at Jatli Police Station in June 2017.

In the first case, two convicts, Muhammad Arafat and Muhammad Umair, were sentenced for attempted murder and assault. Muhammad Arafat received 07 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 200,000.0 for attempted murder, an additional 7 years imprisonment with a Rs. 60,000.0 fine for assault, and a 15% penalty in compensation money (arsh).

Muhammad Umair was sentenced to pay a fine of Rs. 200,000.0. The convicts had attacked four citizens with iron rods and sticks due to prior enmity.

In the second case, five convicts including Saleh, Noor-ul-Islam, Muhammad Ramazan, Muneeb Ahmed, and Tafdeel-ul-Amin were sentenced for assault. Saleh and Noor-ul-Islam each received a fine of Rs. 100,000.0, Muhammad Ramazan was fined Rs. 60,000.0, while Muneeb Ahmed and Tafdeel-ul-Amin were each fined Rs. 30,000.0.

The group of criminals had injured five citizens with axes, iron rods, and sticks linking from prior enmity.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani commended the SSP Investigation and the investigative and legal teams for their diligent efforts.
